Winter hair care

The winter season can be quite a challenge for the health of your hair. It has always been a challenging time for hair care, as hair is affected by the cold outside, dry indoor air, different hair styling products, fighting viruses with medicines and stress, which can make hair lifeless and cause breakage and hair loss.

What affects your hair in winter?
During the cold months of the year, you should not forget to take proper care of your hair, as this season is a difficult time for your hair, affecting its health and beauty:

1. Cold. The blood vessels under the scalp supply oxygen to the hair roots, and when it's cold they constrict, so the hair doesn't get enough oxygen and the nutrients it needs. This is why hair becomes unruly and starts to fall out. To avoid this, a safe way to protect your hair is to wear a hat. Wearing a hat will protect your hair from the weather and protect it from direct contact with the cold. But if you don't want to wear a hat, it's important to at least wash and dry your hair shortly before going out.

2. Heating. We spend more time indoors in winter and dry air is a problem during the heating season. Prolonged exposure to such an environment makes both skin and hair drier. If the moisture reserves in the hair are depleted, the hair structure becomes frizzy and the hair becomes more brittle and tangled. To help your body, it is advisable to take plenty of fluids during the cold season of the year and to spend a lot of time outdoors to improve circulation.

3. Hair washing and styling products. For cold protection, heat protection, smoother hair, more volume, shine, etc. We style our hair every day with different products and it gets too heavy. Shampoo and conditioner are a classic hair care kit and combined with a light spray, your hair will be sufficiently cared for in the cold weather.

4. Viruses and medicines. In winter, our immune system is much more fragile and we are more likely to get acute illnesses. Taking medicines has a negative effect on hair growth and health, and many medicines also have the unwanted side-effect of increased hair loss and brittleness. To strengthen your immune system, provide your body with the necessary vitamins and a well-balanced diet. By taking in natural fats, minerals and vitamins, you will not only protect yourself from colds, but also make your hair happy.

5. Stress and vitamin deficiencies. Vitamin reserves start to run low in winter. At work or at school, with deadlines or sessions looming, psycho-emotional tensions are building up and the body is put under much more stress, which also affects hair health. In winter, our diets are also less vitamin-rich than in summer. Vitamin A and vitamin C, which strengthen the hair, and vitamin E, which provides elasticity, are essential for the beauty of the hair. But don't rush to the chemist to stock up on vitamins, it's healthier to supplement your diet with products that contain the nutrients your body needs.

Natural detergents will be a better choice for daily care and washing. Try our solid shampoos, which are 99.6% natural and are not packaged in plastic bottles. The natural shampoo formula effectively cleanses, moisturises and smooths the scalp and hair, promoting hair growth and restoring a healthy look. They have a pH that is gentle on the hair and scalp. And by complementing your hair care ritual with a solid conditioner, you'll regain your hair's natural shine and elasticity. The conditioner smoothes, intensely moisturises and reduces split ends.

During the winter season, we encourage you to take care of your hair and not weigh it down with synthetic cosmetic products, but treat it to a homemade nourishing hair mask.
For dry and damaged hair, we recommend the Banana Mask - mash a very ripe banana and add 1 tbsp. A squeeze of olive oil or almond oil. Mix thoroughly and massage into hair. Leave on for 15-30 minutes and rinse with a mild shampoo.
To strengthen and shine your hair, make the Avocado Mask by mashing a soft avocado and adding 1 tbsp coconut oil, massage into your hair and leave for at least 15 minutes. Rinse with a shampoo suitable for your hair type. When caring for your hair, remember the factors that affect its health in winter and treat it accordingly!

We'll be delighted if your hair is as shiny and beautiful as a snowflake!
