Nature's friend - shampoo bar

Have you ever wondered how environmentally friendly and safe for humans the various body care products we use every day are? Environmental issues are increasingly talked about and debated nowadays, and plastic pollution is undoubtedly one of the topics at the centre of this debate.
When thinking about an environmentally friendly lifestyle, you have to ask yourself - What can I change about my habits? My suggestion is to opt for solid cosmetic products, such as replacing the classic shampoo in a plastic bottle with a more environmentally friendly alternative - solid shampoo soap.

Consuming solid cosmetic products is just one of the ways in which we can really reduce the amount of waste we leave behind in our daily lives. These products are much more environmentally friendly as they contain no synthetic raw materials, are more concentrated and come mostly without packaging or just a cardboard box that is small and easy to recycle.
Solid shampoo, more commonly known as shampoo soap, is a light and convenient product for everyday hair care that, unlike shampoo, does not add large amounts of water. It also takes up very little space and is ideal not only for everyday use, but also when going to the gym or travelling, as it can be conveniently carried around in a small container with a cap.
The name shampoo soap suggests that this product contains soap. But don't worry, in most cases, it's just the visual appearance and the way it's used that's taken from soap, but the contents are completely different.

Traditional hand soaps are usually alkaline and not suitable for scalp and hair care. Where quality shampoo soaps have a low or neutral pH level, which reduces hair frizz and prevents moisture loss. There is a wide range of solid shampoos available in the shops today, but not all of them are good for your hair.
To check whether a shampoo soap is really soap-free, I recommend that you carefully read the product's ingredients. If the shampoo is soap-based, it will most often be relatively cheap and contain chemicals such as Sodium Hydroxide (Lye). You don't want this product! Instead, look for a solid shampoo that contains natural, gentle coconut-derived detergents, nourishing oils and emollient actives such as coconut oil, glycerin or oat extract.

Vegan Fox solid shampoos contain 99,6 % natural ingredientsand are free from SLS, SLES, PEG, sulphates, parabens and silicones, soaps, synthetic preservatives, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances and artificial colours. You can find the offer here. The age-old adage comes to mind - What works for one will not work for another, so if you're going to buy shampoo soap, it's important to understand what your hair is like. If your hair is dry and brittle, a solid shampoo with nourishing and intensely moisturising ingredients may be more suitable. If your hair is oily, on the other hand, it's better to choose a solid shampoo that intensively cleanses and gives your hair volume and lightness.

Once you've found the right solid shampoo for your hair type, it's time to try it. The use of a solid shampoo may vary slightly depending on the formulation of the product - some shampoos lather better in your hands, others in your hair - but the principle of use is and remains the same. First, wet your hair with water, then lather a piece of shampoo in your hands and massage the lather thoroughly into your scalp and hair. Another way to wash your hair with a solid shampoo is to gently wet a piece of shampoo, slide it over the roots of your hair and lather your hands through the entire length of your hair. Then rinse with water and repeat washing if necessary. Just that simple!

To make the shampoo last longer, it is recommended to dry it on a natural loofah or in a cotton bag after each use. You can also use a well-draining container instead of a loofah. It is important not to leave hard shampoo in the shower with water running over it all the time, as this will significantly reduce the life of the shampoo.

That's all you need to know about buying and using a solid shampoo.
